My Story

I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California. Raised with the heart of the wild – and awe – for the natural environment, I spent most of my childhood camping and hiking and learning and growing along the coast of California (with joyful family summers spent at Lake Tahoe).

I have loved doing art for as long as I can remember.  My family and friends often found me with pen, ink, paint, crayons – any and all tools for creating and adding color and life to any canvas that I could find.

Following my passion to preserve and protect the beauty inherent in nature, I went to Humboldt State University in northern California and obtained a degree in Forestry. I soon landed a job in the great and wild outdoors of Colorado. I spent the next twenty years working for the U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service, and the Bureau of Land Management – with my main goal ensuring that people and nature, and their connected spirit, flourished in the public lands owned by every American.

Deciding it was time to pursue my passion for connecting people to the spirit of nature, I retired and opened up my first art space on Etsy a few years back. I have now expanded my journey with the creation of my own website.  Drawing upon my experience working upon the land, I now create unique expressions of “be wild” art that I hope will connect the spirit of nature to the spirit within the people who love art.

Each piece of art in my shop has a story to share with you! I have had the great privilege to work and play out in the most beautiful places on Earth, and have had the opportunity to “express” all of the wonderful natural and wild “essences” that I treasure on canvas, paper, wood and stone.  Everything you see on my website is Print-on-Demand (which means that each piece is created just for the one making the order –  no waste, no overproduction, no extra burden upon the Earth).

Thank you for visiting my shop,
